![]() ![]() You'll find a list of the supported languages under the "General" tab of the ExhibitPlus user interface in jAlbum. For more details please consult meta.properties in the reference section. Meta.properties can contain other fields - for example, to use an alternative folder name instead of the file system's name for the folder, or to specify a particular thumbnail to be displayed instead of the standard folder icon. The meta.properites file contains a line that should look something like this:ĭescript = Our holiday pictures from 1999 Create or copy a meta.properties into each folder where your source images are stored. ![]() Setting up the meta.properties fileĮach folder needs to have a description entered for it. This could be very useful if you wish to use different layout options in different folders.įor a full explanation about how to use each of these files please consult the reference section. variables.inc - This allows you to override variables on a folder by folder basis. This could be useful if you are using additional styles in the header.inc which are not included in the standard style sheet of the skin. These styles will override any styles in the style sheet. ![]() styles.inc - You can add additional style information to the header of your output files.news.inc - This allows you to put "news" items on index pages to inform visitors about new photographs or perhaps explain additional information.meta.properties - This file is required in each image directory, and describes the contents of the folder, as well as other optional information such as which thumbnail file to use to represent that folder.header.inc - Would you like a nav bar or a standard header to appear on each page? Then use this file.footer.inc - Allows a standard footer (such as a copyright notice) to be included at the bottom of each page. For example you might wish to use alternative titles other than the filenames of the images, but without the need to rename each file. titles.properties - Titles for images in a given folder can be entered into this file.jAlbum can also create these files when using the "Edit" tab in the main jAlbum user interface. comments.properties - Comments for images in a given folder can be entered into this file.At the present time the following files can be used: Check this directory and look at the contents of some of these files. These files can potentially alter the behaviour of the skin, and in some cases they may be required. ![]() You will find a folder in the skin directory called "Optional files to be copied to image source directory". These are set in the skin's graphical user interface (see section above).įor a full list of variable names and detailed explanation of their use, please consult the reference section. Most features can be switched on and off via user variables. If you plan on using these controls, you might like to quickly read the next section about variables just as background information. You can get more detail about the purpose of each of these options in in the reference section, but please understand that each of these controls sets a variable, and it is these variables which are documented in the reference section. For a quick explanation about what these features do, simply hover your mouse over them and a hint will appear. These allow you to customise various aspects of the skin. Once you select this tab you will see a list of options for the skin. After the skin has loaded you will see an extra tab called "ExhibitPlus" just to the right of the "Main" tab at the top left-hand corner of jAlbum. Setting optionsIt is possible to control almost all aspects of the appearance of the skin via an easy to use graphical interface. If videos are included in a regular jAlbum project, there's no need to pre-process them with the NoPages skin - this batch processing might be useful, however, if you intend to use the videos in another context, or if you want to provide them to others, not as part of an album.ExhibitPlus User Interface (UI) - General tab If video files are added to the album project, jAlbum will process them, converting them to the MP4 format, placing the index at the beginning of the file, which enables streaming of the video (i.e., it can begin playing before the entire file has been downloaded to the visitor's computer), and reducing the overall file size considerably, generally without compromising quality. It can be used, for example, to create high-quality scaled images from large originals or to produce thumbnails for use in contexts other than a jAlbum-produced photo album. The skin is more in the nature of a utility program, designed to provide a way to take images and videos and have them processed by the jAlbum image and video engines. It does not generate any HTML or CSS files. The NoPages skin, unlike most jAlbum skins, does not produce any album pages. ![]()
